What is ravenite social club?

The Ravenite Social Club was a notorious Italian-American mob hangout located in Little Italy, Manhattan. It was the headquarters for the Gambino crime family, one of the Five Families of the Italian-American Mafia in New York City.

The club was named after the street it was located on, Ravenite Street. It was a popular meeting place for members of the Gambino crime family, including its boss John Gotti, who held court there during his reign in the 1980s and 1990s.

The Ravenite Social Club was known for its secrecy and exclusivity, with only trusted members of the mob allowed inside. It was where important decisions were made, deals were struck, and rivalries were handled.

The club gained national attention in the 1990s when the FBI installed a bug in the club that recorded conversations among mobsters, which ultimately led to the convictions of several high-ranking members of the Gambino crime family.

The Ravenite Social Club was eventually seized by the government and is no longer in operation. Today, the building that once housed the club is a luxury apartment complex in Little Italy.
